Never say never, there still appears to be hope for popular Microsoft IP Fable.
When Microsoft cancelled Fable Legends and subsequently shut down Lionhead Studios, the general consensus was that the franchise was likely done. However, Xbox boss Phil Spencer appears optimistic about the future of the Microsoft ownded RPG.
@dragen_Light Nothing to announce right now but I do think the IP has a lot of places it could go.

While Spencer confirms via Twitter that there is nothing to annouce at the moment, the post suggests that there are plans for the franchise moving forward. The last major Fable game (Fable III) came out in 2010 and fans have wanted a proper sequel ever since.
If there is anything to announce it is very unlikely Microsoft would allow it to be announced on Twitter. Microsoft typically saves any big announcements for E3, so heres to hoping for another major Fable title. Microsoft’s E3 briefing takes place on the afternoon of Sunday, June 11.
